I'll answer my own question, yes it does fix the problem. Anyone using a Tstik should be aware that they need to rebuild the SPI config register native method for 1.13. But digging a bit further back in the archives it would seem that the DataPort class has some hidden address restrictions that prevent reading anywhere useful. I haven't upgraded to 1.13 yet, is this fixed in this revision? I know Shawn Silverman was asking and Bryan Armstrong suggested that it would be.
