Thanks Bill. I didn't understand the cache at all. The MCF5373 manual gives a good explanation as to how it all works. Fortunately I only invalidate small blocks. I have to say that although I like the Coldfire chips the documentation is absolutely dreadful in several areas. Paul I think there might be a bug in the inner loop below. The most significant address bits do not affect which cache set may contain a given line in main memory. Figure 5-6 in the MCF5373 reference manual shows how this works.
