I think that you are setting the PDDPAR register up incorrectly. If you want
GPIO functionality you need to write ‘0’ to the port bit. Writing a ‘1’ as
you are doing will activate the PST function.

In fact as long as you have no debugger connected it should default to GPIO.

Dear MARK

 

I am using The PST0-4 and DDATA0-4 (USED BY BDM) for driving the external
shift register. After downloading the to the flash and disabling the JTAG
connection still it shows some frequency on PST0 and PST1 instead of the
pulses of Shift register. I had checked the shift register working on other
port pin it works fine. Below is the initialization used for shift register
(GPIO).
