RE: USB host controller

I presently use the Cypress SL811HST-AC host chip in a coldfire design. I,
too, wanted to support printers and I, too, have only tested a few flavors
of HP USB-connected printers.  The code I have to drive the printers is hand
built, no 3rd party stack.

I don't presently know of a way to qualify other printers without
introducing each one one-by-one and recognizing them based on the
enumeration vars and adjusting the protocol and pipe traffic based on the
printer type.

The death of the parallel port has completely funged printing from an
embedded platform.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a USB2 host controller to add to my Coldfire design. I
have found many references.
I'd like advices to make my choice.
As I use a MCF5407 Coldfire, I don't want a PCI interface based host
controller.
If you use such a component, any advice is wellcome.
