Hi Scott

You know a lot more about that than I do.  Doing it "by hand" with a 
6809 was very clunky and used a lot of CPU time back in the 1980s 
(the 6809 was probably a slow chip by todays standards).  I would 
expect a 68332 TPU to be more powerful than simple 6809 timers.  

I haven't gotten into On MPC565 TPU enough to know how hard it is to 
set up.  The manual seems clear compared to many.
