Dear Members
I want to know the revision of mpc555( CME0555) board. Ii saw in the
board that it is rev.B. is it same for the chip.
I need to know about this so that i can program in on chip CMFI
internal flash memory array.
I have given the read me file which tells how to program in flash and
how to change the trd_opts.h file in
Processor\ppc\Board\axiom\mpc_555\mot_flash\demo\trd_opts.h
The project "trk_mpc_555_axiom.mcp" builds a binary that
contains a
flash image of MetroTRK for the MPC CME555 AXIOM evaluation board.
Attached to the flash image is a small piece of auto-flash code that
copies the image into internal flash memory on the processor. The
entry
point is set to the start of this auto-flash code.
Therefore, to get MetroTRK into internal flash memory, it is
only
necessary to download and execute this binary. If the copy to flash
is successful, the debugger will finish execution normally. If
the copy fails, the debugger will stop at the label "copy_failed:".
Note that Config Switch 5 (EPEE) and 6 (VPP) must be ON in order to
program the
internal flash. In addition, Config Switch 4 must be set to ON.
The auto-flash code must be configured properly for the
revision
of the processor on the board. By default it is configured for a
rev G MPC555. To configure it for a different revision, edit the
file:
Processor\ppc\Board\axiom\mpc_555\mot_flash\demo\trd_opts.h
In it, there are macros with names of the
form "MPC555_CMF_<revisions>".
One of them should correspond to your processor revision. Set that
one
to 1 and set the others to 0. Then rebuild MetroTRK. As an aside,
the
"mot_flash" directory contains binary images of a flash programming
library for the MPC555. The associated source code may be used to
interface with this library. Source code for the library itself is
not available. The files are included as they were provided from the
Motorola Powertrain Systems Division. Additional information can be
obtained from that division.
To run MetroTRK from flash: turn off the board, turn off or
disconnect BDM cable if connected, turn switch 1 of MODE_SW2 ON and
turn the board back on.
MetroTRK is configured to communicate over the RS232 port
(COM-1) with
serial cable 115200 baud,N,8,1 with no flow control.
NOTE:
To rebuild the image for a different internal clock rate, edit
the value of "UART_CLOCK", defined in:
Transport\ppc\mot_5xx_axiom_serial\builtin_sci_config.h
Note that, at higher internal clock rates, it may be possible to
increase the baud rate as well. For example, at 20MHz the baud rate
can be increased to 57,600. To change the baud rate for MetroTRK,
edit the value of "TRK_BAUD_RATE", defined in:
Processor\ppc\Board\motorola\mpc_555_axiom\target.h
