ADC with QSPI

Hi,
I am interfacing an AD Converter with MPC566, and written code for
QSPI in C using CodeWarrior compiler 8.1. I am trying to read a
register called as 'channel conversion time register'(of ADC) by
sending its address to the 'communication register'(of ADC). The 8
bit register address of the 'channel conversion time register' has to
be set in 6 bit of 'communication register'. But while executing
QSPI,in Receive RAM,it shows 'FFFF'. How do I know, whether I am able
to write anything on this 'communication register' or not.
Can anyone please suggest something on this?
Following are the specifications of ADC:
4-channle, +/-10 input range, 24-bit ADC (AD7734 from analog devices).
