As well as the other mails that have indicated how to set up clock and
can frequency, you should set the can as tx, disconnect it from the bus
and transmit a frame.  That way the data stream will run forever (no
Ack) and you can use a scope to see the bit width.
 
Of course, there is more to running CAN at 1Mbps than just getting a 1us
bit time.  You have to set prop, pseg1, pseg2 correctly to match your
transceiver delays and bus length.  At lower bauds or with short bus
lengths, you can get away with anything.

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you had experience configuring an MPC565
TouCAN
module to handle CAN bus speed of 1 Mbps. I am required to use the
MPC566 at
56 Mhz but I can't seem to find a proper PRESDIV/PROPSEG/PSEG1/PSEG2
parameter configuration that works. I always end up having Bit Errors in
the
ESTAT register.

The transceiver connected to the TouCAN is a Philips PCA82C250. I am
using
the MPC566EVB board to test my CAN driver (TouCAN B).
