Hi Patrick, You have to patch the kernel if you wish to use a CF *and* a hard disk at the same time. See http://www.openbrick.org/en/Members/jp/flash.patch/view/. It's small but absolutely required, and won't harm in a more "normal" situation. So my suggestion is to install the patched kernel on the disk from your other computer, and try again. If you're really that desperate, don't burn it, but send it to me instead... ;-) Sébastien. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick Prémartin" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2004 6:59 PM Subject: [Openbrick] Allways my problems I tried a new time to install Mandrake on the hard disk with an USB DVD and a bootable CF. I patched the OB and the actual BIOS is 2.0L The installation work well since writing the "programme d'amorçage" (Master Boot Record ?) on the disk. The message I obtain is ":part_nowrite: read:: input/output error:". I allready installed the same distribution on the same disk on an other computer today, but putting it on the OB, I obtained the error "kernel panic: no init file" and I didn't found the reason or a patch for that (changing /etc/fstab, etc/lilo.conf wasn't enough). What can I do now ? I have all tried, I do nothing else to do... Help me before I burn it, please. -- Patrick Premartin contacts perso: [email protected], http://www.pprem.net/ ----- L'Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques a ouvert sa radio sur Internet.
