Mandrake 9.2 problems

Hi,

I bought two OpenBricks and tried to install Mandrake 9.2

1. First I tried the Mandrake installer CF Installer Script, this booted 

    but I could not find a mirror that has a patched mdkinst_stage2.bz2
    file, and did not want to make the mirror myself.
    I observed that it is a patched 9.0 installer which is quit obsolete.

2. So I tried to create my own boot CF disk from the 9.2 distro, but I
    could not use lilo to write the bootblocks because 'the kernel is too
    big.'

3. Than I tried to use syslinux to load vmlinuz, but I wouldnt boot.
    the OB would hang and would even not respond to CRTL-ALT-DEL.

4. Next attempt was to dowload network.img from the 9.2 distro and do
    cat network.img > /dev/sda
    The OB refused to boot from a Lexar 256 MB CF disk with this image,
    it did not recognize it at all.

5. Finally I installed umigummy and saw that syslinux *does* work.
    (What did I do wrong?) I created the Mandrake installer for the
    extranet advanced server, but the mirror:

    http://www.nexedi.org/mirror/mdk/i586/Mandrake/

    that the installer is using, does not give permission to download
    the files. Pretty useless ehr? Does anybody know what mdk version
    this installer is?

6. It would be nice to have a recipe to install Mandrake 9.2 on
    my OB. Do you have any recipes?
    I'll collect everything and will try them all.
    If I succeed in this task I volonteer to put a detailed installation
    procedure on the OpenBrick Site
