this sort of clarifies the "open" in openbrick :)

i really like those systems.

i think the webpage (http://www.storever.com/product/openbrick/openbrick-ng)
could (and should) be a little better, though.

geeks usually like to get as much information as possible about a system
before they decide. insufficient information tends to look like you
have something to hide.

for example you should clarify the term "flash disks" and mention that
the system has an internal IDE connector. (you mean the DiskOnModules
made by nagasaki, right? http://www.nagasaki.com.tw/1-products/DOM.htm
if yes, the terms "USB 2.0 Flash Disk" and "usb compact flash" are plain
wrong. DOMs are neither compact flash, nor are they USB. they are
ide-compatible flash-disks. "USB 2.0 Flash Disk" sounds like a regular
usb memory stick, "usb compact flash" sounds like the system has an internal
compact flash slot that is attached to the system via usb.)


the option boards (hdd slot, pcmcia & CF slot, gps module) should also
be mentionend (if you offer them). also the power supplies for cars
and boats should be very interesting for people who consider
buying it.

i'd also offer the two PDFs for download that are available from
nagsaki.

another point i'd consider very important would be a photo of inside of the
the open system.

390E is not exactly cheap for an embedded system of that type. but the
openbrick does offer a lot for that money, and i would consider it a
fair price, given all the features and the way it is built.

the thing is, if people cannot see how nice the system is, they will mainly
look at the basic specs you provide and at the price.

so i'd say, the more information, the better...


anyway, thanks for a very nice system. i think our openbricks will
work very well.
