	You are mixing two problems... Spam TO the list can be prevented just by 
allowing only subscribers to post. Other addresses, must be moderated.

	On the other hand, you are talking about receiving spam BECAUSE OF the list, 
well, in fact because of the public archives.

	It is done. 

	To the list admin:

	Go to the list administration web.
	Click on Privacy Options
	Check you are in Subscription Rules
	Look for "Show member addresses so they're not directly recognizable as email 
addresses? (Details for obscure_addresses)" (is the last option)
	Click on Yes
	Submit changes

	I don't know your experience with spamassassin, but it seems you have not 
used it in a long time, or you are using a VERY old version. We are using 
version 2.55 and it gets almost ALL spam. With a spam-level of 4 it catches 
aprox 95% of all spam, and no false positive at all. 

	From my main work address, in the last 24hours, 241 spam messages catched, 6 
not catched. No false positive.

	BTW, we use the bayesian filter in spamassassin.
