Thanks for the quick response.  Before I read your response I did a telnet in 
as root and was able to construct the proper files.  i will check that my 
serial bash is working before I make the change.

I also figured out that followup does what i need to do on a thread.  I am 
extremely persistant, and very rarely give up but do seek help.  I generally 
don't answer the same question twice!

I just need to copy over my new ifcfg-eth0 and give it a try.  Thanks again
