problem linking Cascade with cross-compile toolchain

I have a problem with linking the Cascade library to VLC. After inspecting the libraries on the HD1000 I found out the Cascade library is linked to glibc-2.2.4 is that correct ? The cross-compile toolchain provided by jjl was built against glibc-2.2.5 and that won't mix properly ;-( Does somebody has the same experience?
