I just tried it on my HD1000. I get the same black line in vga 720p, vga
1080i, vga 740p, comp 720p, comp 1080i. It seems to do it in every
mode. Saturday I'll drag my HTPC down stairs and compare it to
MyHD100. BTW, the test signal is native 1080i

OK, I'll try using a vga monitor too.

Do you have something else you can try the clip on? I rechecked the clip
on roku & MyHD and it seems to work fine. Are you using the standard
stream player or your trympegdecode? I'll download the clip from the site
and see if it is damaged.
