Re: more artpak problems

Patrick, I appreicate the time you are spending with me.  I am new to Linux, 
but fairly competent in the PC world.

How do I go about making a directory hidden?  How do I load it?  I looked in a 
Linux reference and found nothing relating to the matter

Lets concentrate on a CF memory.  What I think you are saying is that I can 
put all of the picture files and the music files for a single Artpack in a 
directory and make that directory "hidden".  Does that mean I could put N 
artpaks on the memory card (for a nice sized N) with N hidden directories each 
hidden directory holding the music and pictures for a single artpack? 

Would I then be able to see all of the art packs on the menu display if I 
selected that CF card as the source? 

Each artpak directory would contain the three key  files artpakname.roku; 
artpakname.roku.png; and artpakname.artpack; and the descriptor 
(artpakname.artpack) file would have pointers to the appropriate hidden 
directory holding the music and picture files.

I would not use an .autoexec.roku file as it would make no sense

What I want to do is store all of my "artpaks", really canned slide shows with 
music, on a single CF card so I can show them quickly and easily. 

It would really be good if this was all nicely explained and documented 
somewhere with reasonable examples and instructions, including limitations.

If what I describe can be done on a CF card what stops it from working on a 
network share.
