My experience with DigiKey selection process is that you only want to select from a single parameter column at a time. YMMV.

You probably do this anyway but thought I'd mention it, just-in-case. When I need to sift through multiple manufacturers to find a part that fits my needs, I many times start at the Mouser & DigiKey web sites. They are not perfect and do not carry every brand but are usually a very good starting points. Both have a selection process to allow zeroing in on the parts they carry that meet your needs (number of pins, pin spacing, right-angle, etc.) and both have links to the data sheets to check the details.
Anyway, just a thought.

Am I the only person who has this problem? Connectors are a perennial pain in the butt. I want a connector to meet certain criteria, but on-line catalogues don't think my way, they want you to know the connector type before hand, and to understand how they choose to group them.
Currently I'm having that issue. I want a connector that occupies minimal board space. i need 4 pin versions and 2 pin versions. i want the connector to be right angle PCB mount, smd or though hole doesn't matter. I have plenty of PCB real estate, just not a lot of width. maximum width is 8mm so lots of scope for 1.27mm pitch stuff. I need the mating receptacle to have solderable connections, and to also fit into the 8mm width, although I could stretch to 10 maybe. Does anybody have any useful suggestions please! The connectors should be robust and not dislodge easily, but positive lock in that small format is probably out of it.
Thanks
Al
