Suggest to her that it's probably cheaper than a night in a whorehouse? ;-) Back to original topic... the thing that's surprised me is that the Audiotron running through the Black Box 50 actually sounds better than taking an analogue out from my Technics CD player (SL-PG590). By that I mean in terms of detail - the one thing that MP3 tends to lose. I was previously running the downstairs Audiotron into a Sony MD deck set to DAC mode (the internal DAC on the Audiotron is fairly poor, but that doesn't matter to me as I do everything via SPDIF). It sounded good, but not a patch on what it sounds like now. As for running the CD player into the BB50, well... bloody amazing is the only way I can describe it. I've done a comparison between CD and Audiotron playing WAV into the BB50 and there's no noticeable difference, so I think I'm going to re-rip all my CDs as WAVs now I have the disk space to do so, and just keep MP3 for downloaded music. -- Glenn Richards Tel: (01453) 845735 Squirrel Solutions http://www.squirrelsolutions.co.uk/ IT consultancy, hardware and software support, broadband installation
