Overkill?

I've just got hold of an Arcam Black Box 50 (off eBay, of course) and I'm running my second Audiotron into it. MP3s played back through this actually sound better than CDs on the Technics CD player in the same system! (Ok, so playing a CD or WAV file into it sounds even better, but never mind...) My original Audiotron is running into the digital input of a Yamaha DD/DTS5.1 home cinema amplifier. So... anyone else with tales of overkill?
