Recently I read this article in one of the HCI online newspapers:

The article stated that Dr Claude Ghaoui, from Liverpool JMU, UK was initiating
a call for short articles drawn from subjects across HCI, for the Encyclopedia
of Human Computer Interaction. He is seeking a large number of good
contributions for this project. The need for an encyclopedia is ever-increasing
because for the last 25 years or so HCI has inspired new solutions, specially,
for the benefit of the user as a human being, making the user the focal point
which technology should serve, rather than the other way round (when it was the
case before HCI was taken seriously). In such an ever-evolving environment,
teachers, researchers and professionals of the discipline need access to the
most current information in this fast emerging field. The Encyclopedia of Human
Computer Interaction will be most helpful as it aims to provide a comprehensive
coverage and definitions of the most important HCI-related issues, concepts,
trends and technologies in IS and IT. This publication will be distributed
worldwide among academic and professional institutions and will be instrumental
in providing researchers, scholars, students and professionals, access to the
latest knowledge in the field of HCI.
