Sorry for any duplication....

Morgan-Kaufman's HCI book series just came out with a new offering on
prototyping in the software development process entitled "Effective
Prototyping for Software Makers" by Michael Arent, Jonathan Arnowitz and
Nevin Berger.

Much as we hate to admit it, most software practice lacks a sophisticated
understanding of the broad concepts of prototyping and its strategic
position within the development process. Often we overwhelm with a high
fidelity prototype that designs us into a corner. Or, we underwhelm with a
prototype with too much ambiguity and flexibility to be of much use in the
software development process.

This new book will help teach software makers=97developers, designers, and
architects=97build effective prototypes every time. These are prototypes
that convey enough information about the product at the appropriate time
and thus set expectations appropriately.

This practical, informative book will help anyone in the software
development practice to use good prototyping style, methods, and tools to
build prototypes and manage for effective prototyping=97whether or not one
has artistic talent, access to special tools, or programming ability.

Features

This book provides clearly-explained concepts and guidelines with full
color illustrations in addition to examples from a wide variety of
prototyping processes, methods, and tools, It contains:

=B7 Chapters covering a variety of common prototyping techniques

=B7 Chapters covering a variety of prototyping tools that do not
require advanced artistic and/or technical skills

available in digital format for reuse.
