Call for Posters & Participation

Come and join us in Mainz for EWAF=9224<https://2024.ewaf.org/home>: the th=
ird edition of the European Workshop on Algorithmic Fairness. This year=92s=
 edition includes renowned keynote speakers<https://2024.ewaf.org/keynotes>=
, five interactive sessions<https://2024.ewaf.org/call-for-interactive-sess=
ions> and the contributed paper presentations<https://2024.ewaf.org/accepte=
d-papers> selected through the peer-reviewing process by the program commit=
tee.

EWAF=9224 will be held in Mainz from the 1st to the 3rd of July, and more i=
nformation may be found on the website: https://2024.ewaf.org.

To foster further active participation from the community, we are pleased t=
o announce a call for posters.

We invite participants from industry, government, NGOs, and researchers at =
all levels in academia (from MSc thesis students, to PhDs and postdocs as w=
ell as senior researchers) to come with a poster helping to bring their ide=
as and interests across.

Accepted posters will be presented during dedicated poster sessions (1 hr/d=
ay) and the breaks (~2 hr/day).

Poster Format and Submission Guidelines

Poster abstracts should be submitted via EasyChair<https://easychair.org/co=
nferences/?conf=3Dewaf24> using the track EWAF24 Posters. Authors of papers=
submitted at EWAF are required to clearly indicate the paper ID that was a=
ssigned to their paper submission. The names and titles should also match t=
he original submission.

The submission deadline is May the 30th, 2024. Acceptance notifications wil=
l be sent out on May the 31st, 2024.

Posters should be printed out in A1 format, portrait orientation. If it is =
hard for you to travel with a poster, there are several opportunities for p=
oster printing in Mainz. Closest to Alte Mensa, the venue of EWAF=9224, we =
highlight the Uni Copy Shop<https://www.copyshop-uni-mainz.de/start.html>. =
We suggest you get in contact with them via email or phone, so that your po=
ster may be printed in advance.

Travel Support

We are currently planning to offer travel support to early-career researche=
rs or more generally people without travel funds to participate in the EWAF=
24 activities. Our funding for this is however limited and we thus ask you =
kindly to compile this form<https://forms.gle/xjkPmGYkNiBfFpG17> so that we=
can give higher priority to people who need support the most.

We will also prioritize people who are contributing to the conference progr=
am with a paper or a poster; if you do not currently have a contribution, w=
e suggest you first submit a poster, and then compile the participation for=
m.
