The below is the original announcement for this event which is tomorrow (Oct-18 @ 6:30p @ 55 W. 13th, 9th Floor, Parsons Design Lab). Now that everyone has also seen the announcement I was alluding to below, you can all see how huge this event is. (If you haven't you should go to http://ixda.org and see the big news.) There will be two mini presentations and an opportunity to speak to 4 board membesr (2 of whom are the first officers of IxDA). The presentations are ... * A short and concise history of IxD by David Heller * The whole story ... "Birthin' an Interaction Design Association" by Greg Petroff. We'd like to show you where we've been and also how the board got to where we are today. Again, the rest of the announcement including location is below. -- dave David Heller Vice President, IxDA dave (at) ixda (dot) org http://ixda.org http://synapticburn.com/ AIM: bolinhanyc // Y!: dave_ux MSN: [email protected] // G Talk: [email protected] NYC Face 2 Face October Meeting When: Tuesday, October 18, 6:30p - 8:30p Where: Parsons Design Lab @ the Parsons School of Desing 55 W. 13th St., 9th Floor (@ 6th Ave) Finally our own event to really start the new season going. The NYC IxDA Face to Face is going to be on the tail of a very special announcement from the new Board of Directors of the Interaction Design Association. This is a HUGE event and as in most life-changing events it is good to take a step back and gather some perspective to revel in one's accomplishments--in this case the accomplishments of all of us, the Interaction Design community of practice. 4 steering committee members (there are 14 in case people were curious) will be on hand for the evening's events. The first part of the evening will be 2 presentations: "History of IxD" by David Heller by looking at where the field has come from we can look further into where we will be going. "History of IxDG" by Greg Petroff Greg has been doing some research and will present us with a history of where IxDG started and where it is going. The 2nd part of the evening will be related to the announcement and include a question & answer period. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us at nyc (at) ixdg (dot) com.
