Don't forget Carnegie Mellon's interaction design masters in the
school of design. Shelley Evenson is the director of graduate
studies. She's a very gifted designer and teacher. Very solid
students emerge from this program.

If you're into things that verge on art in various ways, please
consider the Royal College of Art's Interaction Design masters, run
by Tony Dunne of Dunne and Raby (dunneandraby.co.uk is their work;
Google to find the RCA's program). They've turned out some
outstanding work, particularly now that Tony's taken over the program.

Used to be, we could mention the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea
in Italy, where I taught, as did others on this list. It's now gone.
There is a one year program at the Domus Academy in Milan that
theoretically represents a merger between the two, but it doesn't
really.

And of course, there's ITP: the Interactive Telecommunications
Program at NYU. It's the oldest of these programs--I think Red Burns
founded it in the 70s. I've loved some of the work the last decade
plus... the webzine Word.com came out of here, as did gURL.com. A
couple years ago, Socialight.com, Dodgeball.com and the lovely work
of Michele Chang and Liz Goodman on digital street games emerged from
the program as well. Tom Igoe's teaching on physical computing at ITP
is especially good.

HCI at Georgia Tech is good, too.
