Business UX best practices

Folks,

I'm trying to form an idea to investigate a messy problem--so here
goes the initial (clear as mud) question:

Does anyone have any good references to research or articles on best
UX practices around designing the business UX for finding a product,
ordering a product, tracking a product, receiving a product, deploying
a product to business partners, and returning or repairing a product.

There are lots of overlaps for consumer oriented product experiences
(B-C), and numerous things have been written about best UX for
E-commerce (Amazon, NetFlix, possibly some of the office supply
superstores?). Who in the B-B world of "companies that make things" is
really setting a new standard? (Auto industry? AirCraft? Appliances?)

I'm not talking about efficiencies as much as business customer
satisfaction. Saving money is huge portion of the success criteria for
buisness...but what about the UX makes life better for the individuals
who live and breathe a business discipline (procurement,
distribution, etc.) everyday?

This likely breaks down into business categories/genres. Are there any
case studies which show a successful UX an it's impact within the
business community for doing business? Again, this story likely gets
messy quickly as there are so many relationships that are bound
together for a single product to go from manufacturing floor to the
venue or sales floor for end-user consumption.

Thanks for your time,
-Pete
