Since we¹ve been having this discussion about experience design, I thought that I would pass along this story from the Sunday NY Times about the American Girl Place in NYC. They took 30,000 reservations for dinner before they opened! If you want a Saturday dinner reservation and you call today, you have to wait until August! But wait, you say, it¹s not a restaurant, it¹s a doll store! That¹s right, they are the quintessential example of the power of great experience design and a great narrative construction and that allows them to create such a unique and compelling brand experience! And one that meets their business objectives as well! You can read more and get the link for the entire article at our blog at http://experiencemanifesto.blogs.com/experience_manifesto/. As a side note, we¹re doing an experience walking tour of Soho tomorrow, so we went out to do a little prep work today. One of the places that we¹re visiting is just beautiful! Every aspect of the design is sensational. Except, the staff can¹t easily do their jobs transacting business. This is one of the issues that we always discuss experience design is about making sure it works for everyone, not just the designer! David _________________________________ David B.
