From what I can see, Mark, thinkAbout is not nearly as hot as Gel.
Joe and Jim have actually been at the customer experience biz as long as
you, beginning with the promising book, Experience Economy. But as I see
it, their ideas never jelled into an actual experience design practice, just
more brand marketing.
Doors of Experience, John's Thackara's operation in NL, is more on a par
with Gel in prominence, scope, and excellence of execution.
I am totally enamored of GE and Gel and hope I can muster the resources to
attend next year. I blogged a notice for Gel on TE, BTW. My next article
on TE, appearing tomorrow, will deal with friend and designer Neil
Goldberg's Gate-3, a new type of ultra workplace. You might want to have
Neil at your next Gel.
