Hello! I am a graduate student in graphic design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and am working on a thesis project that examines consideration of the user within graphic design. I am interested in better understanding user considerations employed in various disciplines to see if they could be applied to graphic design. I am also researching important events and milestones within the history of user-centered design in order to compare user-centered strategies and approaches across disciplines. I have already done research on AIGAs Experience Design and Information Design resources, as well as Donald Norman, Alan Cooper, Jakob Nielsen, Edward Tufte, and a variety of companies (such as IDEO) that take a user-centered approach to design. However, I am certain that there are many user advocates that I have not yet encountered and thought that some of the members of this list could offer some more insight into this subject. If you are willing to share any suggestions for good resources on this topic that might contribute to my study, please send me a short note off of the list, at [email protected] whenever is convenient for you in the next couple of weeks. I appreciate your assistance and time! Best, Neva Corbo-Hudak [email protected] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
