camcorder needed for contextual inquiry-- which one to buy?

We need to purchase a good quality camcorder, any tips on brands and models? Here's our criteria: - Good in low light conditions (2 lux or less) - Good with tricky light conditions, like a bright PC monitor in a dark room - Very good image stabilization so we can skip a tripod when doing some field work - MiniDV format - As small as possible, to be less intimidating to the users - A jack for an external microphone if needed - An option for a very long life battery We would appreciate any advice people have.
