But you're showing and selecting art to create an impression - and that's an artistic expression
in and of itself. Also if you want to be a great designer you've got to understand fine arts.

I can see why mood boards are so popular in the fashion biz - because it's very much a decorative
art field (as say other fields like interior decoration). But while I've seen many top fashion
designers tack up images for inspiration - I notice that many (not all of course) either work by
sketching or draping too. Are mood boards a empty shortcut?

Also shouldn't identity and branding should be a bit smarter? Did Paul Rand use mood boards? Yet
he managed to convey the mood of the brand over wide range of mediums from posters to show rooms -
an approach that should be called "experience design". 

Isn't is our responsibility in this dark cultural age of Britany n' Bush to challenge the idea of
style over substance? Think of the amazing smart things that Tibor did back in the 80s...

Anyway don't mind me - I'm old school.
