In Komodo IDE's "Source Code Control | Perforce" prefs panel there is 
such an option already. I believe that is there for Perforce because "p4 
diff" has an easy way to pass of to an external diff program.

Ah, I was going to say use the "Diff options", but the separate output 
window launch is lame. Could you log a bug for that please?

Agreed, a more generic single place to set that would be most useful. 
That would be a default that each of the separate diff'ing features in 
Komodo would use -- possibly able to override if that makes sense.
