Speaking of new technology (as Azim recently did) ... Just found this reference to Microsoft's upcoming "Longhorn" OS on Scott Johnson's fuzzyblog (http://radio.weblogs.com/0103807/): "Putting Microsoft brand on a new breed: Longhorn" by Brier Dudley (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/134641541_microsof t26.html) I'm betting that the search-and-retrieval model will strongly resemble faceted classification with support for combining search terms from several facets with natural-language syntax.
