Referring to a separate message thread responding to John G's comments
below. If you consider an "enterprise" as a book, the book would have a
table of contents (possibly), a body (representing the enterprise resource
content, structure, and flow - i.e., ontology), and an index (possibly).
Taxonomic approaches provide a TOC to the body and TopicMaps provide an
index. I hold that my approach provides both, as well as a way to subsume
and refine the book's body over time.

I also submit that my approach subsumes ontology engineering, business
intelligence (e.g., datawarehousing, OLAP, Decision Support), application
development and integration, content management, strategic management, and
topic maps.

I would like to see a thoughtful comparison of the approach suggested
here -- recognizing categories -- and the practices presently lumped
under the term 'ontology engineering', or even 'topic mapping'.

Thanks.
