Hi,
I'm Andrea, I'm 25, I'm writing from Italy (Turin). I've joined this
list
because I'm strongly interested in this argument and, generally, in
information architecture. I hope to find many ideas to apply in my
personal
researches and in my job. Faceted classification is very attractive
because,
as I read in other posts, it is implied in many ordinary things.
I have a degree in Communication Science and I've done research in the
information architecture of virtual communities. In my university
final
essay (my thesis) I've focused my attention on virtual communities
applied
to knowledge management. You can find an abstract of the conclusive
part of
I wrote at
http://www.idearium.it/nuke/article.php?sid=114&mode=thread&order=0.
It is
in italian...
I'm also running a weblog on information architecture, web
development,
usability at http://members.lycos.fr/grunciter2002.
Currently, I'm defining a metodology based on distributed card
sorting. I'm
thinking also a way to implement my ideas in a web application.
Everyone who
is interested can contact me at acrevola at hotmail dot com.
I'm a web developer / information architecht for CSP (www.csp.it), an
italian center for research and development in ICT. I work on some web
projects and I'm actually involved by the study on how we can build an
efficient information architecture on devices like mobile phones and
PDA
(and, of course, on *traditional* websites).
I also have an indipendent activity as a web developer, database
designer
and community manager.
Best regards,
Andrea
