Job: Backend (Data Mining/NLP) Engineer at Biz360

We're looking for a backend software engineer to join a very strong
team of developers and deliver the next-generation grid computing
platform. This platform provides numerous services including
large-scale text analysis, targeted web-crawling, and data
warehouse/analytics capabilities
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Solve challenges ranging from state of the art text analysis
(sentiment, topic discovery, event detection, etc.) to operational
(managing terabytes of data with large-scale grid computing)
* Retain strong object-oriented design and consistency in the code base
* Perform rapid design and feasibility analysis during planning phase
to help in creating plans with maximum impact and minimum time to market
* Ensure software deliverables including key milestones are delivered
on time and in accordance with our software development process
Recommend new tool & technologies 

Required Skills:
* Strong programming and object-oriented design skills (5+ years
experience preferred, with at least 2+ years in Java preferred)
* Proven problem solving skills in a large on-demand system environment
* Demonstrated experience building large distributed backend systems
* Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
* An ability to work in a rapidly changing, fast-paced start-up
environment
* Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Natural Language
Processing, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Text Analysis,
data mining, SQL, RMI, XML, Python
