I worked as a "scanner" in a high energy physics lab at
Michigan State in the late 70's, measuring particle tracks
on bubble-chamber film records, mostly from some large-statistic
omnibus experiment at CERN.  Worked the "graveyard shift" so I had
a lot of spare time to spend in the physics library.  There are some
nice linkages between cactus graph logic and Feynman diagram expansions.
