Another very influential book from the 1980s -- more informed than usual with regard to both the mathematical and the Peircean approaches to analogy -- would be the following: Holland, J.H., Holyoak, K.J., Nisbett, R.E., and Thagard, P.R., ''Induction : Processes of Inference, Learning, and Discovery'', MIT Press, Cambridge, MA, 1986.
