[L-A Lokalisointi] Our visit to Kouvola

Hi,

As you know, yesterday Sakari and myself visited the translation
department of the Helsinki University, which is located in Kouvola.

As I didn't want to drive to Kouvola from Turku in one long haul, my
family made it into a nice family trip to Helsinki and Kouvola. 
During Tuesday we enjoyed Helsinki and on Wednesday the other part of
the family (Jutta and little Camilla) visited the town-center of
Kouvola, while Sakari and myself visited the university.

After meeting Pertti Hiertarannan and a brief talk to kill time, we
walked to the computer-classroom. We used this classroom due to
unavailability of the main lecture hall and the portable projector. So
the only projector left was the one in the computer-room. This room
seemed appropriate for our presentation, and it was quite handy to be
able to refer to the machines in front of them.

The lecture itself was visited by about 10 people, and they all seemed
to understand the topics discussed in the presentation. 
At key-points during the presentation I asked for questions, and if it
was all understood. At those moments I received plenty of nods and no
questions.

The presentation lasted about an hour, and as we started slightly later
I probably ate about 10 minutes of the next lecture given in the room.
At the end of the presentation Pertti explained students will need to
inform him if they want to participate, so they can receive the
necessary credits. I gave most if not all of them a business-card, and
explained they can ask me any questions, including a request for a Live-
Demo CD (Mepis-fi).
There were no real discussion at the end, as students probably had other
lectures to attend to, and besides Sakari needed to be back in Helsinki
in time to take care of his children. Therefore we left soon after the
presentation ended.

The next step is to wait for students to show interest, after which we
will need to discuss and determine the goal of the project with them.
When such meeting takes place is still unknown, and might very well be
during next academic year.

So in short, this has been a very successful endeavour so far.
