[L-A Lokalisointi] Portal domain name and development

Another possibility would be lokalisointi.org, which is also free. I would
guess that the .org is also cheaper.

People, please comment on this.

And perhaps we shouldn't register it before we know for sure which server to
use for it...

For others not involved in the server choise discussion so far, the web server
of L-A uses TWiki. I have been developing the portal so far under Apache, and
have made the decision not to use TWiki, as the development would become too
cumbersome for me. I will rather spend my time in developing the website than
learning to use the server software and working through inconvenient editing
interfaces.

I also do not know how much extra effort it would take to develop code that
works both under TWiki and Apache, as part of the code should be usable by the
translation groups, which currently mostly use Apache in their servers.
Perhaps no extra effort would be needed, but as I don't know it for sure, I'll
assume the negative.

So, my choise is to stay with Apache, move to a new server, give CVS (or some
other form of) access to others interested in working on the site, and
possibly transition to some content management system at some time in future.

But, if someone is interested in taking the responsibility of developing the
site with TWiki and maintaining it in future, please speak up. I don't have
much (if any) time right now anyhow, so I would be glad if someone else took
the development of the site.

That way, people at Linux-Aktivaattori would also be satisfied to have the
site under their systems.

We would really need to get this portal going on.
