This was sort of a hack anyway :-), so it is good to fix the
way it was handled in CDE.

Sure.

I guess IIIMJCF does not follow the language swtching via GIMLET well,
due to the way GIMLET is implemented currently, which is supposed to 
be fixed, but the hotkey "cntl-Shift-SPACE" should work as the hotkey 
based language swtching is implemented in IIIM server.

Is the status window not displayed at all? If so..must be a bug or
something.

Which environment are you testing JCF with? 
I don't have JDS or Solaris with me right now as I'm out of town
but I can check it out what's wrong late this week when I return
from the trip.
