The upstream for North Saami KDE translations are the translations found in =

skolelinux' svn.

Here is a short outline of the steps you have to do to contribute your KDE =

translations upstream:

The North Saami, Norwegian nynorsk and Norwegian bokm=E5l translations on =

skolelinux' server are (after a general quality check) transferred to KDE's =

servers on a regular basis.

released by KDE, then  all distributions (including Debian and Ubuntu) will =

include these translations.

I would suggest that only software only available in Ubuntu should be =

translated using Launchpad, everything else should be done upstream.

Ubuntu uses the Debian installer to install Ubuntu. Translations done in th=
at =

part should be done upstream in Debian. This way you improve not only North =

Saami in Ubuntu, but also in Debian, Mint, Ubuntu itself and in countless =

other Debian based distributions.

As for KDE, I would strongly suggest that you do your work on skolelinux' =

servers. For the North Saami team it has been a great help to be a part of =

this infrastructure.

Most of the GUI software in Ubuntu is Gnome software, so I would suggest th=
at =

you do those translations in their upstream.

There are several benefits to this:
* The translations you do will be imported by Ubuntu on a regular basis any=
way =

(if complete enough)
* You will get some quality assurance and some guidance on the terminology =
(at =

least I would proof read your translations).
* Others that are interested in North Saami translations would be able to h=
elp =

out with translations because they are available outside Launchpad.
