and both versions were developed by Ivan Dimkovic. That Nero is a more recent product does not mean it is audibly better. Many people believe LAME 3.90.2 is the best version of LAME, even though there are many later versions. Also, psytel is free and Nero plus AAC plugin is $65. encoders may be a bit off topic for this list. www.hydrogenaudio.org might be a better forum for the issue.
