Erm yes it probably is LTP, lol :) But LC sounds so amazingly crap to me
that i can only use LTP in AAC. I haven't seen any evidence that says
the iPod doesnt like either.

Colin Jarvis said that CBR AAC wouldn't work with the equaliser (and some
others reported this.) He said he solved it by using VBR AAC. So i guess
VBR does work with the iPod, maybe the crash was just a cooincidence?

I suggest Normal :: High or Extreme :: High or higher, or the CBR setting,
if you HAVE to use AAC that is. Lame MP3 --alt-preset-standard or extreme
may be better suited, i havent looked at file sizes much lately though.
