If you are in the US, consider buying an extended warranty from CompUSA. Even if you don't buy the ipod from there, they will still sell you the warranty ( at least they used to ). For three years of coverage it cost me $40 when I bought my 10GB ipod last summer. It may be a waste of money, if I never use it, but if I drop it or it just stops working, they cover it.
