I bought a 30GB iPod. I tried to uninstall MusicMatch and run Ephpod.
I was successful one time only. In subsequent synchs, although the
files would show up on EphPod, I was never able to see songs, etc. on
the iPod itself. I restored several times and came to the conclusion
that my iPod may be defective. I tried both the 2.60f and 2.70a
versions of Ephpod 2. I am using Windows XP Pro and a laptop w/ a
4-prong firewire connection, so I can only upload a portion of my
database at a time before I run out of battery power.

In any case, I am exchanging the iPod for a new one today and want to
install iPod to synch exclusively w/ Ephpod. However, I also would like
to install MusicMatch 8.0 after the EphPod is successfully set up. I
plan to use MusicMatch for SuperTagging and some ripping. (I did take
a look at Media Center 9 and like its interface very much, but thought
its CD lookup features were very weak.)

I have read various threads but none address systematically the
questions below.

My specific questions.

1. What is the proper step-by-ste procedure for configuring a new 30GB
iPod out of the box and installing EphPod using Windows XP?

2. Which version of Ephpod should I use. 2.60 or 2.70+?

3. Anything special needed for Audible file support?

4. Are there any problems that I should be aware of when installing
MusicMatch 8 (w/o Ephpod support).

Thanks, in advance, for listening to me. Advice will be appreciated.

Ina
