That happenned to me several times too. However a reset (Hold on -> Hold off -> Menu + Play for 5 seconds) makes the songs appears. My guess is ephPod doesn't write the database right or misses some step and resetting the iPod makes it work. Last note, be careful, for the new iPods, reset needs to be after a switch of the hold button unlike the hold iPod, it's not a bug, it is in the manual :-) > In any case, I am exchanging the iPod for a new one today and want to > install iPod to synch exclusively w/ Ephpod. What is the proper step-by-ste procedure for configuring a new 30GB > iPod out of the box and installing EphPod using Windows XP? For me: Install the CD all the way to MusicMatch and click on cancel when it is time to install MusicMatch. Then format the iPod on Windows (WinXP insist on formatting it for some odd reason and you can't run Restoration until that is done), then after (quick) formatting, run restoration then reset the iPod. iPod manager is getting much better at detecting/mounting/unmounting the iPod. Once the install is done, you should launch the manager and activate the disk mode. > 2. Which version of Ephpod should I use. 2.60 or 2.70+? 2.70a seems to work for me. > 3. Never used MusicMatch as the interface seems to have been designed to annoy people more than anything. -- Sam ------------------------------------------------------ ephPod Mailing List FAQ and HomePage http://www.ephpod.com mailto:[email protected] to susbcribe mailto:[email protected] to unsusbcribe mailto:[email protected] the mailing-list itself
