Ummm. Try plugging the iPod in, going to the device manager, right clicking on the icon for the iPod device with the yellow caution exclamation point thingy and selecting "Uninstall." Then disconnect the iPod, reboot the PC and then reconnect the iPod and see if that gives you a functioning iPod device (you know, one absent the yellow caution exclamation point thingy.) If it does, then you are good to go. As long as the iPod device driver isn't working, the iPod updater won't work either, since Windows itself won't be assigning a drive letter to the iPod. If that didn't do the trick, then....ummmm. Hey all, this is my first post. I recently got a 5GB ipod in December and it worked fine on my Windows 2000 400mhz Compaq. Only recently has it stopped working, I believe its strictly a computer problem because when i plugged it into my friends computer, it worked perfectly. when plugged into my computer, I checked out the device manager and the iPod was there, although it had the yellow caution exclamation point thingy next to it and said that there was no driver available for it. and whenever I run the iPod updater, it freezes and then tells me that it "Can't Mount iPod!" I'm seriously confused on this one.
