The iPod should charge, unless you are using a 4 pin to 6 pin cable (e.g. common when connecting ipods to laptops.) How are the files that are getting cut off encoded? The files on the computer are fine, so something much be going wrong with the copying over to the iPod. Any idea what might be happening? TjL ps - my Windows iPod doesn't seem to charge when plugged in to the firewire port.
