Re: Ephpod to iPod = beginning of songs cut off

Really, there isn't anything wrong with VBR.

I've got 6,335 MP3 audio files (41,800,736,477 bytes worth) spread across 3
different iPods and 99.99% of them are LAME encoded VBR...and they all play
fine. The only problem I've had in the past with VBR is with bad VBR
headers causing audio to cut off prematurely at the end of a file, not at
the beginning. In every case, repairing the VBR header with MP3TagStudio
solved that problem.

I've experienced audio getting chopped off at the beginning on a couple of
occasions, but since re-ripping fixed the problem, I laid the blame on the
ripping software.

What are you ripping with and what are you encoding with (and what are you
tagging with)?

That did not seem to work.

WMP will play the songs just fine, but it does get the length wrong... for
example a song will display as 2:02 but play for 2:15

I'm starting to wish I hadn't bothered with VBR :-(

Apparently it is for laptop users... which is unfortunate.... After
transferring 800mb worth of songs, it appears that much of the battery is
drained :-/
