Do you mean, drag the songs from the C:\ drive to the iPod without using
Ephpod?  If that's what you mean, the answer is, for the most part, no.  The
iPod requires that every song on the iPod's drive get an entry in the
iTunesDB database file.  That is how the iPod "knows" to display the tag
info and find the file to be played, and this is what Ephpod does: copies
the audio file to the right place on the iPod's HD and updates the iTunesDB
file with the appropriate information.

You could copy a mp3 file yourself and manually update the iTunesDB with a
hex editor, but you'd have to be a masochist to want to do that more than a
time or two.  I (along with many others) tried that one when we started
experimenting with M4A files when firmware 1.3 came out.  Edifying, but,
been there--done that--don't care to have to do it again--thank you.

Ephpod understands drag 'n drop...just drag a directory with MP3s in it and
drop it on the Ephpod window...and Ephpod will transfer all the MP3s (and
update the iTunesDB with the required information.)

I used to be a fan of xPlay, which has an Explorer namespace approach to
displaying songs content on the iPod, and has what could arguably be called
a "purer" drag 'n drop interface, but the latest revisions haven't worked so
well for me and so I gave up on it a couple of months ago.  BTW, you can

Is it possible to just drag the songs from the C:\ drive to the iPod?
